This is a mixed media painting fr om an exhibition i did called 'Hole in the Wall' which was held at artSpace gallery Durban in April 2009 and was featured on the TV show Top Billing. The exhibition was inspired by a trip to the Transkei.
I shot this portrait of Suzy Bell for Top Billing Magazine. She is an unbelievably inspiring lady who is the founder of Max Institute of Fashion at Gateway, an amazing fashion designer, an unbelievable, cook, and absolutely brilliant with colour. (something i really appreciate!)
This pic comes from one of my favorite shoots of 2009. Esjay and Stealing Love Jones are one of Durbs' most successful bands and Esjay in particular was a dream to work with. The amazing Tamlyn Martin was responsible for the brilliant styling, Candice Drury for the gorgeous make up and very talented Tyrone Bradley assisted me with lighting.
This is my dear sweet Granny Smith, and this is how i always want to remember her ... smiling, knitting and in her cute pink hat! Get better soon Gran!
